未来，月球突然爆炸变成碎片，地球各大都市遭到陨石碎片袭击，放眼望去一片废墟。与拥有核武的国家不同，日本为了应对天灾开发了代号为IDOL的机器人负责清理碎片。家住寒冷山区的少女天海春香（井口裕香配音）参加了偶像大师（IDOL MASTER）的遴选，并顺利取得录取通知书。在此之后，她告别家人，独自上京，并在新干线上结识了同样前往十六夜宿舍的萩原雪步（堀江由衣配音）。谁知刚到东京不久她们便卷入巨大的混乱中。在此之后，春香与雪步在水濑伊织、菊地真等前辈的指导下学习IDOL课程，逐渐成长起来，她也终于投身到驾驶IDOL处理碎片的任务中。然而，另有一个神秘组织意图抢夺IDOL，绞碎了友情的战争不可避免爆发…… 本片为根据同名游戏制作的衍生科幻动画。。It was supposed to be a normal day for Alana (11) and Zara (11).
