Along the way they reflect on their tattered relationship and the events that transpired to create the estrangement.。故事以主角辛纪元（黄日华饰）为主干，原是重案组督察，在经历儿子离奇猝死的打击后，触发了他能阅读及捕捉他人意识的潜能，过程中他出现了双重性格的征象，妻子及旁人都以为他患了精神病，其实他深信儿子是在“意识空间”被人杀死！元从此着力钻研“阅读人意识”的潜能，以私家侦探身份协助警方调查超自然案件，希望有一日查出在意识空间杀死儿子的真凶……而剧中一班主角都有异于常人的能力，他们把别人眼中“不正常”的特质，转化为不可思议的潜能，一起合作屡破奇案。。
