讲述十岁少年霍小满，在暑假期间来到陕西榆林爷爷霍达家生活，和几个当地农村小伙伴相识相知，结下深厚友谊，并一起探索防空洞，了解到更多古今安全知识的故事。。少年牧尘，出生于北灵境九大域之一的牧域，其父是牧域域主牧峰，其母身份神秘，牧尘虽然天生没有灵力，却努力上进。与好友柳慕白、谭青山、唐芊儿一起进入北灵院学习，期间结识洛神族神女洛璃。后在学院学习过程中偶然和拥有上古不死鸟血脉的灵兽九幽形成血脉链接，并肩战斗。随着潜伏在大千世界的天邪神九目陆续现世，牧尘、洛璃、柳慕白、唐芊儿等人在牧柳之战、黑龙围攻北苍灵院和白马城的战斗中实力不断升级，最终每个北灵境少年都获得成长，牧尘也携手北灵境众师生与天邪神对战，守护北灵境和平，并最终成长为大千世界“大主宰”。。Social realism regarding struggles of reservation-dwelling Native Americans in the North Central states of the US.
