鲍勃（克里斯汀·史莱特 Christian Slater 饰）是一名常被忽视的公司小职员，独自生活领着微薄的工资，他讨厌公司里的每个人，但唯独对漂亮女同事维纳沙（伊丽莎·库斯伯特 Elisha Cuthbert 饰）情有独钟。他每天幻想着怎样射杀这些冷漠的同事和上司，但突然有一天清晨另一名同事先于他一步做了这些事情，不幸的是维纳沙也被误伤，为了救她鲍勃挺身而出，但是她还是永远不能站立了。一夜之间鲍勃变身了拯救公司的英雄，地位得到提升，但他所想的只是拯救落寞的维纳沙，可事情总不像表面那样，鲍勃的生活变好了但他内心还有许多潜藏的不安，维纳沙表面清纯其实内心沧桑。最终，鲍勃走上了另一条不归路。。本片荣获首届留守与儿童国际电影节最佳纪录片，并被香港中文大学永久收藏。 本片以湖南省一群备战中考的重点班孩子展开讲述。他们中大部分是留守儿童，读书成为摆脱自身命运的唯一出路。但处于青春期的他们，面对繁重的功课、备考的压力、资金的不足以及家庭的教育的缺失站在了人生的十字路口上......
